St Andrews House - Our Home
St Andrews House dates to the mid 1850’s and has been extensively renovated on a number of occasions.
Until the late 1970's it was the former boys' boarding house of the independent Woodroffe School which accommodated up to sixty pupils until the school became a state education facility.
Its most recent and biggest renovation took place at the beginning of this century when the previous owners developed the site into a mini hotel and rental apartments. It was run as a successful B&B until 2010 and, more recently, has recently been acquired by us, Fiona and Jon, where we have done extensive updates to provide a luxury, homely and modern bed and breakfast.
The rooms are large with extensive views across stunning Lyme Bay, the Jurassic coast and the iconic Golden cap, the highest point on the south coast of England.
Most importantly it is our home and when you stay with us we hope to make you as welcome as we can and part of our home too.
The breakfasts were lovely, cooked to order, and special requests never too much trouble. Fiona and Jon greet you with a smile and are helpful in any way they can be from providing plates for takeaway meals brought in, to recommending great places to eat out. It felt like staying with friends.
We found Lyme Regis to be a very expensive place and were struggling to found accommodation at a reasonable price and were really pleased to find this B&B clean and friendly and would highly recommend. The room was clean and co-ordinated and the ensuite was lovely with fluffy towels and toiletries . Breakfast menu offered choices and nothing was too much trouble.
Made to feel welcome, very comfortable and cleanliness excellent. Would revisit.
